    • There are no seats left, can I stand?

      Absolutely!

Please move to the back to allow more passengers to board, and use the handrails and hanging straps provided to hold.

    • The driver passed my stop because the bus was full. Now what?

Catch the next bus; peak routes run every 10–12 minutes. Make sure to leave yourself enough time to catch the next bus if needed.

    • How crowded does it get?

Peak loads happen 10-20 minutes before class blocks, and right after classes let out. Travel earlier/later if you can.

  • Complaints

    • The driver looked right at me and still drove off!

If you aren’t standing at the actual stop, the driver can’t tell you want to board. They’re scanning all mirrors and windows to check doors, curb, bikes, and traffic. Their eyes sweep past people on the sidewalk, so it may look like they’re “looking at you” when they’re really checking for hazards.

Once the doors close and the bus pulls back into traffic, the driver can’t stop again, it’s unsafe and against policy. Be at the stop sign or shelter a few minutes early and stay visible.

    • Can you give me a note if I’m late to class?

No. Traffic and trains happen in San Marcos, it's essential to build some buffer time into your schedule.

    • Why did we sit at a stop forever?

Hubs and some outer bus stops are timed transfer points. Drivers may hold for a few minutes to sync with other routes or stay on schedule.  If you think they were stopped for a very long time, please email us, and we will look into it.
